Program Summary
The purpose of this certificate is to upgrade students’ mindset with the understanding needed to guide others and break through the barriers of religious thinking by teachings biblical education in contrast to just religious education. The program teaches the principles of educating other students on the ethical, historical, social, and cultural background of religion in contrast to that of a Holy and Biblical approach to education. Students will be challenged in their own beliefs on religion, as they get up-close and personal with the living word, gaining an advance and divine understanding of Kingdom knowledge in biblical education. The course does not fall short in teaching those general areas of religious history, anthropology, psychology, and sociology. However, for individuals, such as those who understand the importance of all 5 folds within a ministry and strongly believe they are called to raise up others to spread the gospel in spirit and truth, this program will help guide them on how to go against the grain of religious teachings.
Program Overview
The Religious Education program is designed to develop students on how to teach students of different age groups within religious schools and organizations. This program prepares students to work within a religious setting, focusing on the practices and theories used to provide educational solutions to people of the faith-based community, The program prepares students to serve as educators teaching biblical education, world religion, religious studies, history, and literature among other subjects. Upon completion of this program, students will have a well-rounded understanding of how to teach others and develop a revelatory understanding of other religions and sacred texts. Students will learn the key principles of religious education to help those they are teaching better connect with the original and Biblical teachings of the bible.
Career Field
With a major in religious education, the career field that is set before the student is far from minuscule, as students will be able to pursue a career as an academic educator at a master or Ph.D. level preschool teacher for young children, religious activities, and even director at education institutions. Students may even want to consider an independent role as an adjunct philosophy professor, theology teacher, and assistant faith coordinator. This program helps prepare individuals to be successful in roles such as ministering, political consulting, religious rights advocate, teaching at college or university level, and even for roles within the child welfare system.
